![]() You can use Puppet Pin or inverse kinematics, or 3rd party tools. So how do you do it? The proper workflow depends entirely on the shot and how you are going to animate your character. If you have motion tracking data from a motion capture rig or set of cameras, you still have to manually tie each tracking point to a specific spot on your character. There is no automated way to do that in any VFX software that I have ever used. You can also use Mask Tracking to follow features in a shot. Sometimes there is a lot of hand keyframing involved. Sometimes you may also want to Motion Stabilize the shot before tracking a specific feature. ![]() The tools include Mocha AE and the Track Motion options in the Motion Tracking Panel. You have to track one feature at a time but you can track up to 4 different areas at a time and combine that data. The method used to do that tracking depends on the shot. You can track any feature or detail and apply that transform data (movement) to any null or layer.
